New Release
My newest album, Jiffy, features two piano arrangements I played at his funeral, along with two original compositions inspired by him. It’s now available wherever you listen to music.
It’s hard to put into words how I’ve felt since Tanner “Jiffy” Martin’s passing. I miss him, but I’m so grateful for the years of memories and laughter we shared. I’ve never in my life met someone so universally loved. He was a light to everyone he met—radiating joy, kindness, and warmth. He inspired people to be a little kinder, laugh a little more, and not take life too seriously.
When he was diagnosed with cancer, his story touched the world. His incredible wife, Shay, stepped up in ways most people will never fully understand—caring for him, raising their new baby, and sharing their journey in a way that inspired millions. Countless charities and organizations were created/brought into the spotlight, and donations poured in from all over the globe. His story even led thousands to get tested, saving lives through early cancer detection.
Jiff and I had many deep conversations about life and death, and we shared some truly beautiful moments toward the end. I was fortunate enough to say goodbye while he was in hospice, and I played these arrangements for him, Shay, their beautiful daughter AmyLou, and their families. It’s a moment I will cherish forever.
I love you, Jiff, and I’m so grateful for the memories we shared. Your last words to all of us ring louder now more than ever:
“Be kind to each other, assume good intent in other people, and you guys will have a happy life.”

About Jacob Rex Ostler
Jake has been playing the piano for as long as he can remember. From his first chord to now, his music has been heard all over the world. He spent time signed to Capitol Records, co-writing and producing songs that have amassed over 100+ million total streams and are featured on Netflix and other notable platforms.
When he isn’t composing, he is singing in choirs, playing for weddings/private events, and accompanying artists on tour, including Pattie Gonia on their SAVE HER! tour.
He has also recently started a boat making business in his attic, and is happy to announce that it’s going very well- sails are going through the roof.
